ETFs
Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) are units of mutual funds issued by Mutual Fund Management Companies (MMCs) and listed for trading on the Athens Stock Exchange.
Advantages of ETFs
ETFs are traded in the Athens Stock Exchange, through its Members, just like stocks. An ETF enables investors to spread the risk of their investment through exposure to a diversified portfolio of shares, while having as its main investment objective the replication of the performance of a particular index.

Transparency
The Athens Stock Exchange disseminates real-time information regarding the prices of the shares of the ETFs, the price of the index it monitors, the net asset value per share, the iNAV price as well as the composition of the ETFs, so that investors can have an overview of the status of their investments at any time.

Liquidity
In the ETF share market, the presence of at least one Market Maker is mandatory. The Market Maker provides pairs of ‘buy and sell’ orders (quotes) continuously during the trading session, ensuring smooth and efficient trading of ETF shares throughout the trading.

Portfolio Diversification
Investing in ETFs eliminates risk through portfolio diversification, as each investor indirectly invests in the group of stocks that make up the specific index that ETFs track, without actually having to buy each individual stock of the index.

Flexibility
ETFs trade like stocks. Investors can buy or sell shares of ETFs through brokerage firms at any time during the trading session, taking advantage of market conditions in the same way they buy or sell shares.
