This program is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of Investor Relations (IR), emphasize the vital role IR plays within a company, and introduce the essential tools and techniques required for effectively managing a company's value. Clear, reliable, and timely communication between a company with publicly traded securities (stocks and/or bonds) and its various stakeholders can significantly impact its reputation and market value. In this context, Investor Relations is critical for ensuring the transparent, accurate, and timely dissemination of the company’s financial performance and strategic objectives to the investment community, in full compliance with its regulatory obligations. Additionally, IR serves as a strategic advisor to the Board of Directors and senior management.

Instructor's short bio

Xenofon Damalas, CFA


Mr Xenofon Damalas, CFA, is head of Group Investor Relations for Piraeus Financial Holdings.

His role is to develop investor relations strategy, communicate the corporate messaging of Piraeus Group to external stakeholders and attract and engage equity and debt investors. He also supervises and coordinates quarterly earnings publications and management investor meetings, while he is accountable for Credit Ratings Relations. In his role, Mr Damalas participates in various strategic cross-functional projects of the Group, such as share capital increases, debt issuance and liability management, transformation projects, etc. 

Before his current position, Mr Damalas was the Head of Investment Strategy of Piraeus Bank, responsible for strategic and tactical asset allocation, quantitative analysis and security selection. Prior to that, he was the Head of Investment Services at Wealth Management of CPB Bank (ex Marfin Egnatia Bank).
Mr Damalas earned an MSc in Financial Mathematics from the University of Edinburgh and a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Patras. He is a CFA charterholder.A.
