Aegean Airlines, Greece's fastest growing air carrier, and Lufthansa Technik, the leading provider for maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of airplanes, components and engines, signed two new contracts on Total Component Support TCS? and Total Engine Support TES?. Over the next eight years Lufthansa Technik will serve a fleet of up to 27 Airbus A320 family aircraft, via a Total Component Support TCS? with the provision of components at the carrier's hub Athens. The arrangement enables Aegean Airlines to participate in one of the world's largest pools for aircraft components where of nearly 1,000 different part numbers of LRUs (Line Replaceable Unit) have been pre-selected. An additional Total Engine Support TES? contract covers a complete service for the IAE V2500 engines of the Airbus airplanes, which are currently being phased into the carrier's fleet. The engines will be served on time-and-material terms. Lufthansa Technik will also provide access to spare engines when required by Aegean Airlines.
