SMALL CAP CONFERENCE 2024

The SMALL CAP CONFERENCE 2024, organized by the Athens Stock Exchange, successfully concluded yesterday, featuring the participation of senior executives from 20 listed small-cap companies.

The conference is part of the Athens Exchange Group's initiatives to enhance the visibility of listed companies within the investment community, increase their coverage by stock market analysts, and improve the liquidity of their shares.

Opening the conference, Mr. Yianos Kontopoulos, CEO of the Athens Exchange Group, emphasized that small and medium-sized enterprises form the productive backbone of the country. He also highlighted that small-cap companies account for 60% of all listed firms on the Athens Stock Exchange and have demonstrated a 50% increase in liquidity and a 22% rise in capitalization over the past three years. “In other words, the increase in valuations on the Athens Stock Exchange in recent years is not limited to Large & Mid Cap companies but applies equally to Small Cap firms,” Mr. Kontopoulos noted.

Meanwhile, Mr. Panagiotis Antonopoulos, A' Vice President of the Hellenic Fund and Asset Management Association, stated during his welcome address that the conference presents an excellent opportunity for small-cap companies to connect with analysts and investment managers. He added: "Through this initiative, companies can showcase their activities, directly communicate their needs and goals, and strengthen their ties with the investment community. Our Association has consistently supported smaller listed firms, aiming to enhance their relationships with investors. Our members—Greek Collective Investment and Asset Managers—serve as a key financial pillar for listed companies. Investments in small-cap companies, in particular, offer diversification benefits and the potential for high returns."

During the conference, senior representatives from 20 listed companies had the opportunity to present their corporate profiles and investment plans to Greek fund managers and analysts.
