The President of the Athens Stock Exchange Mr P. Alexakis, following the statement of the Minister of Economy concerning the sale of the 8% of the share capital of the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization S.A., mentioned the following:

The statement of the Minister of Economy is a repetition of his statement in December 2001 and continuation of the effort of the Government for the reduction of the participation of the state in the share capital of the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization S.A., as was stated in June 2001 and was partially realized through the issue of a bond loan.
As far as we know the materialization is scheduled to be realized through a combination of methods which are accepted by the market
