Official Opening Bell Ceremony of the Athens Stock Exchange

The Athens Stock Exchange welcomed executives from MSCI and brokerage firms today to mark the commencement of trading for the new Futures Contract linked to the MSCI GR Rebased Index. Mr. Vasileios Koutsoulis, Executive Director, Index Derivatives Product – EMEA, MSCI, and Mr. Antonios Panagiotopoulos, ESG & Climate Research, Executive Director, MSCI, officially opened the session by ringing the traditional bell.

"The introduction of this new derivative will significantly expand our range of products and contribute to enhancing the Athens Stock Exchange’s visibility within the international investment community," emphasized Mr. Yianos Kontopoulos, CEO of the Athens Exchange Group.

"We are particularly pleased with the launch of this new product, which will allow investors with exposure to Greece to hedge or adjust the risk in their portfolios," noted Mr. Vasileios Koutsoulis, Executive Director, Index Derivatives Product – EMEA, MSCI.

The Chairman of the Athens Stock Exchange Board, Mr. Giorgos Chantzinikolaou, also expressed his satisfaction with the creation of this new derivative product, highlighting its role in further improving the stock exchange’s operational framework.
