INTRALOT wins its third contract in the US
INTRALOT's subsidiary in the US has received a Notice of Intent to Award a contract for the provision of an on-line Lottery system from the Idaho Lottery. The conversion to the new system will commence February 19, 2007. The contract is for seven years with an option to extend for up to three years and its value runs into $ 30 million. The award follows on the heels of INTRALOT's successful conversion of the Montana Lottery system, implemented on March 31st of this year. The third contract of INTRALOT in the US entails the provision of an integrated on-line lottery system as well as Pass Through services for up to 300 concurrent instant games including validations, activations, settlements and reporting. The new system will also allow the Lottery to expand operations to 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year, in a market with annual sales of about $ 130 million and a continuous upward trend. The new contract brings technology upgrades to Idaho through INTRALOT's LOTOS O/S On-line Gaming Computer System based on the UNIX (IBM-AIX) platform, which ensures speed, inter-functionality, credibility and security for the optimum operation of the Lottery. The aforementioned system is INTRALOT's second installation of a UNIX (IBM-AIX) platform in the US market, following Montana's Lottery system that successfully commenced operations recently. INTRALOT will install a total of 1,200 high-end CORONIS terminals in a respective number of lottery points of sale in the State of Idaho. Peripheral devices will include INTRALOT's high volume printer, LCD Customer Displays, Results and Advertising Displays. A state-of-the-art satellite network will be utilized to link retailer terminals to the central system.
INTRALOT S.A. CEO, Mr. Constantinos Antonopoulos stated:
"The new award by the Idaho Lottery is a proof of the successful performance of INTRALOT in the US market. For a third time, INTRALOT offered the best proposal - in terms of technology and cost - to a US Lottery, prevailing the competition and proving that its proposed technological solutions fitted best the needs of its new customer. This new contract justifies the characterization of INTRALOT as the emerging player in the American continent".
Roger Simmons, Director of the Idaho Lottery, said:
"We're very happy having finally INTRALOT as our new supplier. Based on the evaluation teams' diligent and thorough evaluation of both INTRALOT's and GTECH's bids, which involved analyzing and scoring their technical capabilities, equipment and service offerings and pricing, as well as visits to vendor sites and interviews with other lottery executives, we determined that INTRALOT was the best bidder for the Lottery and the state. In particular, the high praise that was received from both Nebraska Lottery and the Montana Lottery staff, combined with the recent successful Montana Lottery conversion, provided us with the assurances that we needed that INTRALOT was, indeed, the right choice for Idaho".
