The Chairman of Athens Exchange elected vice President of FESE

The Chairman of Athens Exchange Mr. Spyros Capralos, was unanimously elected today, November 29th 2006, as vice President of the Federation of European Securities Exchanges (FESE). The elections were held during the General Meeting of FESE taking place today in Frankfurt.

Mr. Capralos, following the end of the election process, stated: "I feel especially proud about my election today as vice President of FESE, because it takes place at a period when many changes in European capital markets are taking place, with new countries acceding to the European Union and new markets quickly integrated in the new environment. From my side, I am anxious to continue on the very important work already accomplished at FESE, in order to promote a compatible environment and to minimize possible obstacles on the way to unification."

At todays General Meeting Mr. Jukka Ruuska, President of HEX Group, was elected as President of the Federation. Both newly elected officers will assume their office today, November 29th 2006.

The new Board of Directors of FESE includes, besides the President and vice President of FESE, the President of the Working Committee Mr. Ramon Adarraga (Bolsa de Madrid), the President of Budget and Audit Committee Mr. Tom Healy (Irish Stock Exchange), as well as 6 members, Messrs. Massimo Capuano (Borsa Italiana), Adam Kinsley (London Stock Exchange), Olivier Lefebvre (Euronext), Stefan Mai (Deutsche Boerse), Diarmuid O''Hegarty (London Metal Exchange), Marko Simoneti (Ljubljana Stock Exchange).
