On Monday, March 10, 2025, the Athens Stock Exchange proudly hosted the “Ring the Bell for Gender Equality” event as part of the global initiative led by the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), UN Global Compact, and the Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative. This worldwide initiative aims to promote gender equality and strengthen the role of women in capital markets and the corporate sector.

The event underscored the importance of diversity, inclusion, and female empowerment in shaping a modern and dynamic business landscape.

A key highlight of the event was the panel discussion titled: “Investing in Women: How Female Empowerment and Participation Shape the Modern Business Landscape”, featuring distinguished industry leaders:

• Anna Apostolidou, CEO, BriQ Properties REIC

• Eleni Vrettou, CEO, ATTICA BANK

• Julia Doukaki, Chief of Staff, Athens Stock Exchange Group

• Sophia Zairi, Chief IR Officer, Viohalco

• Marina Bouki, Consultant - Investor, NED

The discussion was moderated by esteemed journalist Maria-Nefeli Sarafoglou, who explored the challenges, opportunities, and impact of greater female participation in leadership roles across industries.

As a symbolic conclusion to the event, the closing bell ceremony of the Athens Stock Exchange was led by Ms. Sofi Daskalaki Mytilinaiou, President of UN Global Compact Greece, marking the commitment to advancing gender equality in capital markets.
