THESSALONIKI PORT AUTHORITY S.A.
Announcement
A presentation of ThPA S.A. took place on Thursday 18 May 2006 at the Company's main Offices at Pier 1 in the Port of Thessaloniki. The presentation was carried out by the Company's C.E.O., Mr. I. Tsaras, who briefly referred to the Company's activities, the Port's strategic position and its comparative advantages in relation to the ports in the Balkans and the European Union. With regard to the results of 2005, it was stressed that the Company's sales increased by 3.7% compared to 2004, that is from Euro 45.782 thousand in 2004 to Euro 47.462 thousand in 2005. The results after taxes, taking into consideration the necessary adjustments that were required during compliance of the financial statements with the IAS/IFRS, the extraordinary expenses that occurred during the financial year (claim of the Greek State for the consideration of the 2001 financial year), in combination with maintaining the Company's list of tariffs at the same levels during the last years, are considered satisfactory, despite the minimal decrease of 1% that is presented. Lastly, the Company's investment programme regarding the extension of Pier 6 and the provision of Logistics services has been extensively developed. These investments will upgrade the Port's role in the wider region and establish the position of the Port as the main Gate of the Balkans.
