Announcement

Αthens, November 16, 2005. Hellenic Telecommunications Organization SA (ASE: HTO, NYSE: OTE), the Greek full-service telecommunications provider, clarifies that in its October 20, 2005 announcement related to the Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS), it was stated that over 5,500 employees, out of a combined pool of 6,700 eligible employees, have elected to take part in the VRS. The combined pool of 6,700 eligible employees included 700 who could take retirement in the case their years of military service were recognized by the State. This has not happened. Without these 700, the pool of eligible employees is 6,000, of which 5,500 have elected to leave with the Voluntary Retirement Scheme. An additional 250 employees will leave during the remaining 2005 due to normal retirement, and a not yet determined number in 2006. Therefore, out of a total of 15,925 Greek fixed-line employees at June 30, 2005, a total of at least 5,750 employees, (or 36% of the workforce) will leave during the next 12 months.
