J&P-AVAX SA signed on July 2, 2007 with Athens International Airport SA a contract for the project titled Construction of Roads and Utilities Infrastructure for the North West Commercial Development Area (NWCDA), worth Euro 7.5 million.
The Athens International Airport plans to develop commercially the airport's North Western area, with a surface of about 175,000 m3. The NWCDA is located at the airport's northern border with the Spata municipality, on the western side of the Olympic Airways base.
The contract covers all access roads, infrastructure works and networks required to meet the area's increased needs, including the connection of all new facilities to the airport's existing systems.
The project also includes earth-moving, road works, foundations, sewerage & irrigation systems, relocation of existing utility networks, construction of medium- and low-voltage power grids, computer networks, power supply, new power sub-station, flood lighting, fencing, fresh water supply, fire fighting system, natural gas network, and landscaping works.
The contract is scheduled for completion in 15 months.
