J&P-AVAX SA signed with Poland''s General Directorate of National Roads & Motorways on 22/01/2007 a contract for the project titled "CONSTRUCTION OF MOTORWAY A1 SECTION SOSNICA - BELK KM 519+374 KM - 534+785", worth Euro 213.5 million incl. VAT.
The construction site is in Southern Poland, near the city of Gliwice. The project pertains to the construction of a 15.4-km section of Highway A1 at dual motorway standards of three lanes plus one emergency in each direction, 25 km of access roads, three interchanges, 15 bridges, including a 824-m bridge spanning 500 m over a lake, 18 culverts, two motorist resting areas, road lighting, and construction & reconstruction of utility networks.
The project has a duration of 24 months.
The new contract expands J&P-AVAX SA''s presence in the Polish construction market, having already signed a building project worth Euro 13.7 m in the city of Gliwice and a roadwork worth Euro 16.7 m in the city of Miedzyrzek Podlaski.
