Derivative products are contracts which are traded on a continuous basis in a regulated market and through which investors depict their future expectations for the value of an underlying asset or index. The price of the derivative product is directly related to the progress in prices of other primary products. Thus, derivative products refer to stocks, stock indices, bonds, currencies or commodities. Internationally, the most popular derivative products which are traded in regulated markets are futures and options.
