UNISOFT PROVIDES REAL TIME TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

Athens, June 5, 2001 · UNISOFT S.A. (USOFT GA) (UNSr.AT), a member of the ALTEC Group (ALTEC GA) (AICr.AT), announces its participation in the EURO-ALERT project within the framework of the European Commission's TEN-TELECOM program. The goal of the project is to provide an integrated supervision and environmental data management system, based on real time Internet-based services. Participation in this project is part of UNISOFT's ongoing effort for its establishment as a main development carrier of IT infrastructure and telematics in our country and in the Balkans.

The project's infrastructure is focused on collecting data from areas such as industrial parks, metropolitan areas, etc. as well as industrial units. At the same time the platform is based on EC Directive 96/61 known as IPPC (Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control).

This pilot platform provides a structured mechanism to secure the credibility and reliability in the adoption of environmental controls submitted by the legislative or regulatory framework. At the same time, the platform will contribute to reducing the monitoring cost and creating a system with increased reliability and standards for environmental data management.

Given the emphasis placed on the Actions framework of the 3rd Community Support Framework, which is also evident in the dual-axis program for the Society of Information, UNISOFT aims to participate in the planning and programming actions for innovative infrastructures, systems and services in this field. Towards this end, UNISOFT will utilize its extensive know-how and the powerful and cohesive web of exploitation of the particular technologies it has in place.
