Unibrain S.A. (Reuters: UNBr.AT) today announced results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2006.
According to the financial statements, based on the International Financial Reporting Standards (I.F.R.S.): The main highlights of the financial statements of Unibrain S.A. are:
- Increase of sales by 4.55% from euro 1,060,837.36 to euro 1,109,151.44.
- Increase of operational profit before taxes, interests and depreciation (EBITDA) by 1700% from euro 28,401.34 to euro 511,273.67.
- Increase of profit before taxes from loss of euro 20,467.61 to profit of euro 350,938.56.
- Increase of net profit after taxes and minority rights from loss of euro 20,467.61 to profit euro 249,166.38. The main highlights of the financial statements of the group:
- Increase of sales by 30% from euro 1,217,224.22 to euro 1,578,842.33.
- Increase of operational profit before taxes, interests and depreciation (EBITDA) by 760% from euro 66,497.40 to euro 572,293.46.
- Increase of profit before taxes by 4173% from euro 9,343.97 to euro 399,253.79
- Increase of net profit after taxes and minority rights by 2876% from ?9,343.97 to ?278,079.86. Commenting the above results, the Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, Mr. George Zachopoulos, pointed out that the positive results of Unibrain?s Q1-2006 financial statement, continuation of the 2005 positive results, are due to:
1. The successful restructuring of both Unibrain S.A. and its (100% owned) subsidiary company, Unibrain, Inc.- which is located in California, USA.
2. The continuous success of the iZak product line with OEM sales in Europe, USA and mainly Asia.
3. The successful evolution of the agreement with Texas Instruments for the use of Unibrain software which is bundled with TI's 1394b (Firewire-800) chips sold worldwide.
4. The significant increase of sales of IEEE-1394 software and services to industrial customers, mainly in North America, providing to Unibrain bigger profit margin.
