The only Greek company included in the 300 major European R&D leaders

For the second consecutive year INTRACOM, the largest Greek multinational ICT company, is included among the 300 largest European companies investing highly in R&D (regardless of business sector), according to the recent report Industrial R&D Investment Scoreboard 2005 issued by the European Commission. INTRACOM has achieved the same distinction last year (Industrial R&D Investment Scoreboard 2004).

The European Commission report includes data for 1,400 companies (700 based in Europe and 700 overseas) that invest a total of 315M in R&D, i.e. more than 50% of private investments in research world wide.

The yearly report of the European Commission Industrial R&D Investment Scoreboard is part of the Commission's broader activities aiming to monitor industrial investments in R&D. The report is implemented within the framework of the EU Investment Action Plan on this field. The objective of the report is to promote both the importance of R&D investments for the future, and the necessity of keeping track of the relevant figures.

This important international distinction comes as a result of INTRACOM's strategic priority to invest in R&D as a cornerstone of the company's development strategy. In fact, INTRACOM annually invests as much as 5-7% of its total revenue in R&D activities. Over the last 5 years, INTRACOM has participated in more that 80 international research programmes (often as a lead partner). INTRACOM operates sophisticated R&D labs within its facilities for the fast development of high quality systems. Moreover, INTRACOM has registered a significant number of international patents. INTRACOM collaborates and maintains strategic partnerships with world leaders in order to jointly conduct research and develop new products and services.
