The consolidated turnover of the VIOHALCO GROUP increased by 38%, during the period 01/01-30/09/2006, amounting to Euro 2.412 mil. The consolidated profits before taxes, interest, amortization and depreciation (EBITDA) for the period amounted to Euro 298 million, increasing by 68% and the profit before taxes and minority rights to Euro 166 million, increasing by 197%, in comparison with the relevant amounts of the corresponding period of 2005. The profit after taxes and minority rights amounted to Euro 81,5 million, or Euro 0,411 per share, marking an increase of 272%, in comparison with 2005.
The increase in the turnover is due to the increase in the sales volume, as well as to the increase in metals prices. The significant increase of the profits is due to the increase in the profit margins, as a result of the favorable conditions prevailing the metals branch and the amelioration of efficiency in the production facilities of the companies included in the consolidation.
