In reply to a letter sent on 15 November 2006, by the Hellenic Capital Markets Commission, in relation to certain articles in the financial press, Alpha Bank announces that, discussions have commenced with Anadolu Endustri Holdings, to obtain half of its shareholding in the Turkish bank Alternatifbank and its subsidiaries. If, and when, such discussions conclude, Alpha Bank, in line with established practise and applicable law, will duly and timely proceed with an announcement.
