July 9, 2001- Mr. Nikolaos Bakirtzoglou is appointed as General Manager of METAL CONSTRUCTIONS OF GREECE S.A. (METKA S.A.), a subsidiary of the MYTILINEOS Group. At the same time, he was elected as member of the Board of Directors of the same company.

Mr. Bakirtzoglou is a graduate from National Metsovio Polytechnic Institution with a degree in Mechanical Engineering · Electronics Mechanics and has a 30-year business experience, of which 23 years as Executive of METKA.

Mr. Bakirtzoglou has been working in METKA since 1978, in the beginning as Worksites' Manager and later on as Erection Manager and Projects' Manager and finally as Deputy General Manager of the company.

He has undertaken the general management of METKA and replaced Mr. Ioannis Desypris, who became the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MYTILINEOS POWER GENERATION AND SUPPLIES S.A. and MYTILINEOS - HELLENIC WIND POWER S.A. Mr. Bakirtzoglou also replaced Mr. Desypris as a member of METKA's Board of Directors.
