Launch video MMS applications in the Greek market

COSMOTE MOBILE TELECOMMUNICATIONS S.A., the leading provider of mobile telecommunication services in Greece, is the first to commercially launch video MMS applications in the Greek market, which combine image and sound with motion, thus further extending its services portfolio.
This new COSMOTE messaging service allows the Company's customers to exchange their own short personal videos, simply by sending an MMS from a video MMS enabled handset. In addition, COSMOTE is the first in the Greek market to launch exclusive video services, through its ?MyCosmos? portal. More specifically, in collaboration with Antenna TV, COSMOTE offers infotainment services, such as viewing short music videos of popular Greek and international artists (e.g. Simply Red) or viewing the artists' personal messages.
Committed to its customer centric philosophy of providing user-friendly and comprehensive services, COSMOTE has secured various ways of access to its video messaging service, namely SMS, WAP and the MyCosmos SIM card. In addition and for a period of 2 months, COSMOTE customers can use the MyCosmos video services for free.
COSMOTE successfully launched its MMS services in September 2002 and currently has approximately 40,000 MMS users, clear evidence of the growing popularity of MMS as a means of communication among the Company's customers. COSMOTE's completion of its MMS interconnection with the networks of the other Greek operators last February along with the launch of video MMS applications, paves the way for the introduction of other services such as video streaming and the adoption of MMS on a wider scale.
COSMOTE's launch of its video messaging service is just the first step of the value added services that are to follow and that will signal the offering of 3rd Generation services. COSMOTE will continue to enhance its suite of value added services with new services based on the MMS platform, with the aim to reinforce its customers' loyalty while at the same time create additional revenues streams.
