INTRACOM IT SERVICES & SIEMENS consortium has been awarded a contract for the automation of Hellenic Post offices

INTRACOM IT SERVICES and SIEMENS SA, as a consortium, have been awarded by the Hellenic Post (ELTA) a contract for the automation of their postal exchange offices. The Euro 1.8 mill budget contract has 17-months duration. INTRACOM IT SERVICES is the project coordinator and with a 70% participation in the consortium.
The project aims to upgrade the operation of Postal Office P.O. Boxes all over Greece. This upgrade will enable the automation of the execution of all post exchanges/ transactions, products selling, financial services dispatching, as well as the administration of internal processes and tasks.
Specifically, the project includes the software customization (platform and applications) and the extension of applications software with the addition of new functionalities, the installation and full deployment of software in all Hellenic Post Automated Offices hardware (449 offices, 1.466 PO Boxes), the migration of existing applications, files and data into the new environment, the provision of training services and software use know-how transfer, as well as the provision of software guarantee, maintenance and support services.
Through a wide network of postal offices as well as post and agricultural distributors all over Greece, ELTA will be able to provide combined posting, transportation, financial transactions and information high quality services that will empower their offices.
By undertaking this postal exchange offices automation project, INTRACOM IT SERVICES continues its successful cooperation with the Hellenic Post that has started with the implementation of their integrated information system, following an international tender in 1999.
