FORTHnet is boosting its interconnection speed with the International Internet

FORTHnet has made an important upgrade of its capacity with the International Internet, since the 14th of January, placing in operation the privately owned circuit it recently acquired, which has a speed of 155 Μbps, increasing the total speed of interconnection with abroad to 189Mbps, from 89Mbps that existed up until today.

This privately-owned wired circuit by FORTHnet connects our country with abroad via an under seas optical fiber and in combination with the 34 Mbps circuit, the company has with Europe (through Telecom Italia), gives it a total of 189 Mbps and guarantees the leading place that FORTHnet possesses in the Internet field.

It is the biggest capacity upgrade that ever took place in Greece. It offers its Internet users very important advantages given that it substantially increases the connection speeds with the world web (World Wide Web) and offers unprecedented prospects for activation of new services and Internet applications appear.

The continuous upgrades of the company's network to189 Mbps, proves in the best way that the company continues investing so much in the development of infrastructure that supports its activities, as well as in its expansion in new sectors, taking into consideration the best possible service to its customers.
