Fredrik Carstens

Fredrik Carstens joined the International Securities Lending Association (ISLA) in January 2022 as Public Affairs Advisor based in Munich, Germany. In this role he is responsible for engaging with all industry stakeholders supporting ISLA's work in the EMEA region. The focus is to further develop the relationship with market regulators and policy makers in Europe advocating the role of securities lending in the financial markets on behalf its members.
Prior to joining ISLA, Fredrik spent over 30 years successfully growing and managing a business globally servicing and advising large institutional clients with specialised finance solutions for over 31 years. His most recent position was as Managing Director at Deutsche Bank as Global Head of Agency Securities Lending Sales based in London. In addition, he was UK Head of the bank's Global Transaction Banking division between 2014 and 2016 chairing the GTB UK Management Committee.
Fredrik is a German national having spent over 25 years in London and has had other placements with JP Morgan in Frankfurt and New York as well as Dresdner Bank and SEB. He holds an MBA from the University of Southern California and a BSc from University of Lund, Sweden.
